FORMAT UPDATE

Kids, here's the deal. For the latest news from your favorite New York (and Jersey) sports sources, check out the RSS feeds and links on the right side of the page. I will update the section below with "bonus" coverage, consisting mostly of NY-related sports video.

So, read on the right and watch on the left. Enjoy!

Just to let you people know how dedicated I am, I'm sporting a winter coat indoors as I write this. Yes, that's how cold it is in my apartment. A busted pipe and sub-zero temps outside will do that to ya. Okay, moving forward ...

Gruden's out in Tampa. The Jets aren't saying anything as to whether Gruden will be a candidate for their opening at this point. Chucky's at least worth a look, isn't he?

The Giants lose an assistant ... and it's not "Spags."

The Knicks kissed their winning streak buh-bye, as the Wiz (the Wiz!) beat NY in the Garden, 96-89.

The Islanders are once again relevant, but not for the right reasons. With talk of the team leaving Long Island heating up after they agreed to play an exhibition in Kansas City, NHL commissioner Gary Bettman went on record as saying the Isles need a new arena. Meanwhile, the Isles are moving one thing: their training camp.

The Devils beat Columbus, 2-1, on a controversial goal. See for yourself below:

Rangers beat the Blackhawks, 3-2 in OT.

The Yankees and Mets get more in tax-free bonds for their news stadiums.

Also ... the Yanks are looking to move Nick Swisher or Xavier Nady.

Brian McNamee met with federal investigators to talk about whether Roger Clemens should be charged with perjury. Oh, and don't expect the Rocket to receive a pardon.
